Homemade Cranberry Sauce

Cranberry sauce is incredibly easy to make! In just 10 minutes, you’ll have a delicious and naturally gluten-free sauce that’s perfect for any meal.

Ingredients
  

  • 12 ounces of fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • orange zest or cinnamon optional

Instructions
 

  • Rinse the cranberries, discarding any soft or shriveled ones.
  • Combine the cranberries, sugar, and water in a medium saucepan.
  • Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the cranberries burst and the sauce thickens (about 10 minutes).
  • Remove from heat and stir in a teaspoon of orange zest or a pinch of cinnamon for extra warmth and flavor.
  • Let the sauce cool—it will thicken further as it sets.

Make Ahead Tips:

One of the best things about homemade cranberry sauce is that you can make it ahead of time! Prepare it a day or two before your gathering and store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator. When it’s time to serve, bring the sauce to room temperature for the best flavor and consistency
