Homemade Peppermint Bark

Bridget Towery | Happy Healthy Homey
This quick, festive candy comes together with only two ingredients—perfect for gifting or nibbling while watching Hallmark movies.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 3 candy canes, crushed or 24 hard peppermint candies, crushed

Instructions

  • Line a cookie sheet with waxed paper.
  • Place peppermint candies in a blender, or seal them in a Ziploc bag and crush with a rolling pin. (Great for stress relief!)
  • Melt the chocolate in a double boiler over low heat, or microwave in 15-second intervals until smooth and creamy.
  • Pour the melted chocolate onto the wax paper and spread to your preferred thickness.
  • Sprinkle the crushed peppermint over the top, gently pressing the pieces into the chocolate with the back of a spoon.
  • Let the bark cool completely until firm. Slide the pan into the fridge if you’re in a hurry.
  • Once set, break into pieces and enjoy!

Notes

Optional Twist:
Stir the crushed peppermint directly into the melted chocolate before spreading for a more speckled, candy-cane-throughout texture.
