Living Easter Every Day: Abiding in the Risen Christ

The Resurrection is not the end of the story—it’s the beginning of a relationship.

Easter isn't the end---it's the beginning.
Easter isn’t the end—it’s the beginning.

Easter is my favorite holiday. There is so much beauty and joy in this sacred season. It’s a celebration of spring—flowers blooming, birds singing their songs of praise. For families, it’s new dresses and shoes, sunrise services, and a delicious dinner shared with those we love.

The tomb is empty. He has risen! We gather in joy, decorate with lilies, sing “Hallelujah”—and it’s a glorious celebration.

What happens after the celebration ends? What does Monday look like? Or July 3rd? Or October 31st?

This year, the Lord has been gently teaching me what it means to abide—to stay with Him, remain in Him, and live every day with the risen Savior.

Abide is my word of the year. At first, I thought it meant obedience—following rules and getting it right.

But the more I sat with the word, the more I realized I was wrong—and I’m so glad I was. Abide isn’t about pressure or performance. It’s about presence. It’s about resting in Jesus, walking with Him, staying close, and trusting He’s right there—every single day.

The Resurrection is Just the Beginning

Too often, Easter feels like a finish line. But really, it’s the starting point of something beautiful.

“Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.” – John 15:4

Jesus didn’t just rise for us—He rose to be with us. He invites us not just to believe—but to walk closely with Him. To make our home in His presence. To abide.

What Does It Mean to Live Easter Every Day?

What if abiding wasn’t a once-a-year celebration, but a daily way of life?

What if…
– We read the Word not as a task to check off, but as a way to listen?
– We prayed as a conversation, not a list?
– We sat in silence just to be with Him?

The Bible isn’t just ink on a page—it’s the living voice of God. When you open it, you’re not just reading about God; you’re meeting with Him. His Word sees you, knows you, and speaks directly into your heart.

To abide is to rest in Him—whether you’re working, writing, mothering, cooking dinner, folding laundry, or navigating something hard. It’s pausing in the middle of it all to breathe and say:

Jesus, I abide in You.
Jesus, help me through this moment.
Jesus.

And sometimes, that’s all it takes.

A Personal Moment of Abiding

Jesus, I Abide in You.
A whisper. A moment. A peace that stays.

Not long ago, I was having one of those days where everything felt like too much. The kind of day when your heart is tired, the to-do list is long, and even the small things feel overwhelming.

I paused in the middle of it all—just long enough to take a breath—and whispered, “Jesus, I abide in You.”

That was it. No eloquent words. No grand moment. Just a whisper.

But in that whisper, His peace came. My circumstances didn’t change, but something in me did. I wasn’t alone. I was held. And that’s what abiding is—it’s choosing, right in the middle of the messy and the hard, to stay with Him. To let Him be near.

Be Encouraged

Abiding isn’t about being perfect. It’s not about performing or proving. It’s about returning. Resting. Remaining.

Living Easter every day means waking up with Jesus—not just in celebration, but in connection.

Some days, when the going gets tough, I simply whisper, “Jesus, I abide in You.” Let His grace wash over you. Let His peace fill every empty space. Let His presence meet you—right where you are.

What would change if we didn’t just celebrate Easter… but lived it?

What if we didn’t just celebrate Easter—but lived it?

If you’re feeling the pull to walk with Jesus day by day—to stay close, even in the middle of the mess and the mundane—remember this: you don’t have to do it perfectly.

Just come. Whisper His name. Rest in His presence. Abiding begins with one small step—and He will meet you there.
