Meet the Gang

We are blessed to have three dogs and a kitty. There is never a dull moment in our lives with those four! I hope you enjoy “meeting them” on this blog and my newsletter!

Meet Buck: The Senior Gentleman

At 11 years old, Buck is the senior member of our pack, and he carries his age with wisdom and grace. Believe it or not, Buck holds the title of our most expensive rescue dog! We rescued him at just six weeks old, and he had quite the rough start with several different types of worms. But with love and care, he’s grown into the strong, spirited dog we adore today.

Buck is a Golden Retriever/Lab mix, but don’t let that fool you—he’s not your typical water dog. While he’s an excellent off-leash companion and loyal to a fault, he has little interest in swimming or retrieving.

What Buck does love, though, is a long, peaceful walk in the desert. He lives for the thrill of the chase when rabbits dart across our path, and his joyful energy shines whenever people are around. Buck may be 11, but he’s still full of life and always ready for the next adventure!

Meet Charlie: The Mischief-Making Tabby

Charlie, our orange tabby, joined our family when he was just one year old, rescued from a family in need of rehoming him. This boy is packed with personality and has made himself an irreplaceable part of our lives—especially when it comes to my stitching projects! If there’s a needle, thread, or fabric involved, you can bet Charlie will be right there, “helping.”

Charlie enjoys the best of both worlds as an indoor/outdoor kitty. When he’s not napping in a warm sunbeam, he’s out hunting gophers, proving he’s as skilled as he is charming. But perhaps his favorite pastime is stirring up mischief—whether it’s playfully pestering his dog siblings or teasing them just enough to stay out of trouble. Life is never dull with Charlie around!

Meet Bullet: The Sweetheart Chiweenie

Bullet’s journey to us began at our local animal shelter, where she arrived after spending about six weeks running the streets with her sibling. She was only six months old, and her time on the streets left her with a fear of traffic and fireworks—likely because she was on the loose over Independence Day. While we think she might be a Chiweenie, her breed is the least important thing to us. All that matters is that she’s an adorable little girl who stole our hearts the moment we met her.

It didn’t take Bullet long to realize she had found her forever home. She quickly settled in, embracing her new life filled with love and care. She enjoys her short walks in the desert, soaking up the sun and exploring new scents along the way.

Bullet has also built some strong bonds at home. She loves snuggling up with Buck and turning the house into a racetrack with Daisy as they chase each other in playful spurts. There’s never a dull moment when Bullet’s around!

Meet Daisy Mae: Our Sweet Southern Belle!

Daisy Mae is our most recent rescue, and she came to us from a very special source—our granddaughter’s home. This sweet girl turned one in May, but her story started with a rough beginning. Our granddaughter found Daisy in a box with some food and an empty water dish, abandoned in a Costco parking lot. Thankfully, she was under the shade of a tree, but with June temperatures soaring over 100 degrees, it was a close call.

With a heart of gold, Daisy is the perfect mix of gentle and spunky, always ready for a snuggle but just as eager for a game of fetch. With her soft fur and soulful eyes, she wins over everyone who meets her, and she’s always the first to offer comfort with her loving nature.

We aren’t sure exactly what breed Daisy is, but what we do know is that she’s pure love! One of her favorite activities is giving kisses—lots of them.

When she’s not smothering you with affection, you’ll find her digging through her toy basket, always on the hunt for something fun. Daisy throws, shakes, and growls at her toys, playing with an infectious enthusiasm that brings joy to everyone around her. She’ll make a game out of anything that moves!

Daisy also enjoys downtime with her siblings, soaking up the sun alongside Buck and Bullet. And when playtime begins, she’s eager to recruit everyone into the fun—even Charlie, who may not always be ready for her high-energy antics. Daisy Mae has quickly become an essential part of our family with her loving heart and playful spirit.

Our Joyful Crew

Life with Buck, Bullet, Daisy Mae, and Charlie is full of love, laughter, and a bit of chaos. Each one of them has their own unique personality and quirks, but together they make our house feel like home. We are so blessed to share our lives with these four, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

One fun fact about our crew is that they’re all blonde in color—whether it’s Buck’s golden coat, Bullet and Daisy’s sandy tones, or Charlie’s orange tabby stripes! They make quite the matching set, and their personalities are as bright as their coats.

Whether it’s Daisy and Bullet racing through the house, Charlie offering “help” with my stitching, or Buck leading us on peaceful desert walks, our days are never dull. They bring joy to our hearts, warmth to our home, and plenty of stories to share.
